We have two programs:

  1. The Student Series features high-quality student instruments from Yamaha, Conn, Selmer, King, LeBlanc, Eastman Strings, and Century Strings, among others. This is the perfect program for all beginning and intermediate musicians. The Student Series rental prices are listed below.

  2. The Performance Series features "step-up" instruments from many of the same leading manufacturers. All of the great features of our rental program, including just a 3-month minimum, all rentals being rent-to-own, and 100% of your rental payment going to the purchase price still apply. Rental prices for the Performance Series instruments vary by individual instrument.

Why Rent from Lamorinda Music?

Simply put, we have the best rental program in the business:

  • We rent only top-quality, educator-approved instruments, including Yamaha, Conn, Selmer, Bach, King, Leblanc, Armstrong, Emerson, Getzen, Eastman Strings, and Century Strings.

  • Our rental prices are very competitive. You will not find a better combination of rental price and instrument quality anywhere - period.

  • 100% of your rental payments can be applied toward the purchase of the instrument.

  • You can add an optional Maintenance Plan to your rental that covers any damage to the instrument on rent for a completely worry-free rental experience.

  • You may elect to purchase your instrument at any time during the rental period and receive a 20% discount off the payoff balance.

  • Most rental instruments are gently used, but have been thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and serviced. We will occasionally offer rentals of new instruments if they are available.

  • We rent a wider variety of band and orchestra instruments than most, including cellos, french horns (single and double), oboes, and baritones. We also rent guitars, electric basses, amps, and digital pianos.

  • Violin, viola, and cello players can move up to the next larger size and carry over all rental equity from the smaller-sized instruments.

  • If your student isn't sure what instrument they wish to play, bring them by the store and we will work with them as they try out different instruments to find the perfect fit.
