Consignment Instruments

About the Program

In addition to selling excellent brand new instruments and accessories we are happy to sell your high quality used instrument on consignment. We have successfully sold recorders, guitars, vintage ukuleles, saxophones, clarinets, trumpets, and various other instruments and accessories for our customers.

 

Our consignment program means we sell your item in our store at no cost to you, but we take a percentage of the sale price when the item sells. Even in this digital age, many people want to see, touch, and play an instrument before purchasing. By having us carry your instrument you avoid having to have people come to your house to try things out. And buyers like the ability to pay by debit or credit card and deal with an established business.

In addition to displaying your instrument in our physical store, we will feature it in our eBay Store if practical.

 

Here are some highlights of our consignment program:

• The instrument must be in good, playable condition.

• We will be happy to service/repair your instrument, but any repairs must be paid for before we will put it up for consignment.

• When requested, you must be able to provide proof of ownership

• We will jointly agree on fair resale value

• Our fee is 25% for items priced less than $1,000. Percentage is negotiable for items greater than $1,000.

• In some cases we may contact you if a customer makes a reasonable offer below the asking price. You may also call us at any time if you want to reduce the price on your consigned item.

• If the item remains unsold after two months, you may be asked to either reduce the price or to personally come to reclaim your instrument.

• If we end up selling the product through eBay, shipping and eBay fees will be split according to the agreed-upon consignment percentage.
