The Selmer Mark VI is the reference point for professional saxophones, and mid-1960s examples like this 1967 alto sax are widely regarded as some of the best ever made.
This horn (serial M144473) delivers exactly what players look for in a great Mark VI: a rich, centered core sound, quick response, and the flexibility to handle anything from straight-ahead jazz to classical work.
This particular sax is in very good condition and has recently been serviced in our shop, so it’s playing cleanly top to bottom and ready to go. The keywork feels solid and comfortable, and the horn speaks easily across the full range.
Cosmetically, it shows normal wear for its age, but nothing out of line for a well-cared-for vintage instrument.
