Uke Class Signup

Ukulele instructor Gary Peare just announced our winter uke classes! Whether you just got your first ukulele or you have been playing for years, we have the class for you.

These classes meet on Saturdays and allow you to make a lot of progress in a pretty short amount of time. Gary is offering a "Learning to Play" group class that is appropriate for beginners that have been playing 0-3 months and a "Player's Circle" for Intermediate players. Also note there is a Community Uke Jam from 1-3PM on Saturday, February 9th.

Weekly Group Classes

"Learning to Play" Ukulele Class (appropriate for players with 0-3 months experience)

If you’re completely new to the ukulele or have just recently picked up the instrument, check out the Learning to Play class. Best for players with 0-3 months of experience. Students can miss one class if needed and still keep up, so don't let a planned ski weekend keep you from signing up and learning this fun instrument. Give Gary a call at 925-285-8175 if you have any questions.

Six Saturdays: Jan 19th, Jan 26th, Feb 2nd, Feb 16th, Feb 23rd, and Mar 2nd (no class Feb 9th - but come for our Community Uke Jam that afternoon!)

Time: 2:30PM - 3:30PM

Cost: $150, payable at the first class.

Intermediate "Player's Circle"

For those who’ve been playing for a while and want to explore new styles and techniques, consider joining the Intermediate Player’s Circle. This is a free-form and relatively unstructured series where Gary introduces and explores musical styles, strumming, and fingerpicking techniques based on the skill levels and interests of the group. This session we’ll be working on multi-part, ensemble arrangements. You’ll have the most fun in this class if you’ve been playing for a while.

So, are you an intermediate player? Check this description that  James Hill uses:

"A student at this level can hold a steady rhythm and is competent with a variety of basic chords (for example A, Am, B7, C, C7, D, Dm, E, Em, G, and G7). Understands simple chord progressions (such as I, IV, V chords), can sing and strum at the same time, and learns chords to simple tunes fairly quickly."

Six Saturdays:  Jan 19th, Jan 26th, Feb 2nd, Feb 16th, Feb 23rd, and Mar 2nd (no class Feb 9th - but come for our Community Uke Jam that afternoon!)

Time: 12:30PM - 2:00PM

Cost: $150, payable at the first class.
