Fred Sokolow Ukulele Workshops
Fred Sokolow is best known as the author of a library of instructional books and DVDs for guitar, banjo, Dobro, mandolin, lap steel and ukulele. With over a dozen ukulele books and videos in his catalog, he has become a major player/teacher in the worldwide ukulele renaissance, teaching and performing at uke festivals all over the US and in England and Ireland.

Workshop #1 - 6:30PM - 7:30PM
HOW TO PLAY CHORD/MELODY SOLOS: Using several easy-to-play examples, Fred shows you how to construct a chord solo. Playing chords and melody at the same time, you can play any kind of music: country, rock, jazz, blues, folk, whatever. Learn a few simple tunes to get started.
Workshop #2 - 7:45PM - 8:45PM
UNDERSTANDING CHORD PROGRESSIONS: It's easier to learn new songs when you understand how chords move in popular tunes. There are patterns that are repeated in countless songs...learn about the 12 bar blues, 2-5-1s. the rhythm changes, diatonic progressions and finally understand the circle of fifths.
Cost: $20 for a single workshop, $30 for both. Payable at the workshop.
