We've got plenty of ways for you to learn the ukulele
and jam with some fellow uke players. From free monthly
classes, weeekly group classes, and individual lessons,
we've got you covered. Check them out below:
Free Monthly Ukulele Class and Jam
Come
to one of our very popular free
Ukulele classes happening the second Saturday
of each month taught by Gary
Peare. We have a class for beginners of all ages
from 2-3PM in the store and then for teens/adults from
3:15-4:30PM. Our ukulele classes are free (though donations
are always accepted). We host them outdoors when the
weather is nice or indoors in our group lesson area
otherwise.
This class was recently featured in an article
in the Lamorinda Weekly that discussed the growing popularity
of ukuleles.
The next free uke class is Saturday, February 11th -
we will see you then!
If
you don't have a ukulele don't worry - you can rent
one at the store for just $5 for the duration of the
class. We will provide a ukulele sheet music packet
that you can use in the class and take home with you
afterwards.
You don't need to sign up - just drop on by. If you

Gary also teaches individual ukulele lessons at a mutually

Weekly Ukulele Classes starting on January 21st
While our free monthly class is very popular, we get
lots of requests for a regular weekly ukulele class
so players can make progress on their uke more quickly.
Good news! We have not one, but two classes starting
up on January 21st that will be just the ticket, regardless
of your skill level.
Weekly Beginner Ukulele Class
By popular request, Gary Peare will be offering a fun
and stress-free class for beginners. Even if you've
never picked up the uke before, Gary will have you playing
by the end of the first session. We'll cover tuning,
and basic chords and strumming. All skill levels welcome.
(Students under 12 welcome with the permission of the
instructor. Please contact Gary Peare at 925-285-8175
for information.)
When: Saturdays, 2:30 - 3:30. 8 sessions,
beginning January 21. No class on February 11 and March
10 (skipping Uke Jam Saturdays). Location: Group class area, Lamorinda
Music Fee: $160, payable to instructor. Ukulele
required.
Weekly Advanced Beginner Ukulele Class
Our Advanced Beginner Class will continue, building
on skills and techniques learned in the fall class.
We'll focus on strumming techniques including triplets,
beginning fingerpicking exercises, and expanding your
chord repertoire. We'll be using the book "Ukulele
Fretboard Roadmaps," available at the store. New
advanced beginner students welcome! Please contact the
instructor, Gary Peare at 925-285-8175 for information. When: Saturdays, 3:45 - 4:45. 8 sessions,
beginning January 21. No class on February 11 and March
10 (skipping Uke Jam Saturdays). Location: Group class area, Lamorinda
