Grand Opening Celebration

Thank you to everyone who joined us (and our neighbor, Lafayette Health Club) at our Grand Opening celebration on Friday, July 31st. A truly "grand" time was had by all, including our wonderful musical performers (almost all of whom are instructors at Lamorinda Music) and all the members of our community that joined us.

Below are some pictures of the event. While we won't have another Grand Opening, we may very well have other community parties (stay tuned!)

The store was all dressed up with our new djembe tree (on the right)

We also just got in a Yamaha Clavinova Digital Grand Piano (courtesy of our partners, Music Exchange of Walnut Creek)

Gary Peare entertained folks with some terrific ukalele playing

Laura Zucker, who teaches guitar and songwriting at Lamorinda Music, kicked off the festivities with some great music

The Lamorinda Music "All Star" jam band featured many of our instructors and some friends as well.

Tommy Davidson teaches trombone through LASF and privately - sounding great!

Yunus Iyriboz (who teaches guitar at Lamorinda Music) doing an awesome guitar solo

Stanley Middle School Band Director Bob Athayde stepped in to play Bass for the group - and sounded great!

Stevie Coyle (former lead of the Waybacks and now a professional solo musician) kept the crowd entertained with his excellent guitar and vocal skills. He just released a new CD - check out his website here for more details.

Everyone was thrilled with an impromptu concert by many of the instructors (including Kyle Athayde, playing bass, center) that will be teaching at the Lafayette Summer Jazz Camp early August.
