Our Community

We are very proud of our community and the value they place on music and the arts. Please support the following organizations by attending events put on by these groups or donating your time, talents, or money. We do.

Some recent highlights:

  • Norm Dea, Director of Acalanes High School Bands and Orchestra has been recognized nationally in SBO Magazine (School Band and Orchestra, December, 2010, page 30) as the California representative in their 50 Directors Who Make a Difference report. We are very proud of him and honored to have him in our community!

  • Did you know that Campolindo Orchestra is going to China? It will be a great experience for the musicians as well as all the people who get to hear them play. There are a variety of ways you can help - from renting a student to just eating pizza during a Campo fundraiser. Check out all the info about the trip (and the great musical happenings) here.

  • The Acalanes High School Music Department was recognized by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) as one of the “Best Communities for Music Education” in the Nation. There was a ceremony at Lamorinda Music with Acalanes instrumental music director Norm Dea and choral music director Bruce Lengacher where they were presented with the certificate and a banner celebrating the award. This is just one more indication how truly special our community is for music!
