Happy 2010 from Lamorinda Music!

Now that the new year is upon us, what better resolution you can make than to learn a new instrument or pick up that instrument you haven't touched for years? Lamorinda Music is your headquarters for learning (or improving) any instrument that moves you. We have a wide range of musical instruments that will make this holiday season the best ever - from woodwinds, brass, and percussion to violins, violas, and cellos. We also have acoustic and electic guitars as well as electic basses. We have digital keyboards, digital drums, and decidedly non-digital ukuleles.

What's New?

• We have a new instructor teaching at our store! Elizabeth Talbot teaches both Cello and Violin. She been teaching for over nine years and performs throughout the Bay Area. See more details at our instructor page here. You can also visit her web site here.
  
• We have opened an on-line store on ebay to showcase some of our great deals on consignment items. There are woodwind mouthpieces, used instruments, and we are adding more all the time. Check it out here or just come by our actual store and check them out first hand!
  
• We just got in a great selection of gently used music books that are marked down drastically - come check them out.
  
• Interested in upgrading your saxophone mouthpiece at a great price? We have over a dozen gently used (but sterilized!) high quality metal jazz mouthpieces from some of the leading manufacturers, including Berg Larsen, Lawton, Otto Link, and Ponzol. We also carry a wide selection of new Jody Jazz mouthpieces as well.
  
• We had a great time being part of the Grand Opening ceremony for the Lafayette Library and Learning Center. The Lamorinda Music staff (plus some of our instructors, fellow Cal Band alumni, and some guests) marched from the old library to the new library playing Cal fight songs and some Sousa marches. If you haven't had a chance to check out and visit the new library, do so! You won't be disappointed.

Who is Lamorinda Music?

We are members of the community with a simple philosophy. Music is fun. It is fun to play and a joy to listen to. It is fun to try a new instrument, discover a new band you like, improve as a musician, buy a cute music-related gift, and even fun (most of the time!) to practice. So why shouldn't a music store be fun too? We believe in a friendly, happy, and well-stocked music store that caters to brand-new elementary school musicians, seasoned professionals, and everyone in between. We can't wait to see you.
